Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov stated last Friday that the United States and the West have declared total war, stating "a real hybrid war, total war has been declared on us" by the West.
Hybrid warfare is a military strategy that consists of political warfare and blends conventional warfare in with irregular warfare, such as cyberwarfare, circulating propaganda and fake news, and other, more indirect tactics rather than full-on confrontational warfare.
Lavrov stated during a meeting that "a real hybrid war, total war was declared on us to destroy, break, annihilate, strangle the Russian economy, and Russia on the whole".
In response to sanctions imposed on Russia by the West and reports that Russia has been isolated on the world stage Lavrov stated, "We have many friends, allies, partners in the world".
