Law Enforcement groups from several nations have worked to tear down a global botnet of computers that was being used for devious purpose by the Russian state. Those countries include The United States of America, The UK, The Netherlands, and Germany.
The botnet, which is known as 'RSOCKS' is a network of computers across the globe that have been hacked and then utilized into a global botnet, of items such as routers, computers, garage door openers, etc..., utilizing the world wide web to for continued hacking purposes.
Some of these victims of RSOCKS include a Hotel, University, an electronics manufacturer and television studio.
To hide their true source, RSOCKS users paid a fee to route their internet traffic through these compromised devices.
