The launch was detected from the Sunan area in Pyongyang at around 6 a.m., 6:37 a.m., and 6:42 a.m., reported by the Joint Chiefs of Staff. This was the 17th show of force by the DPRK this year.
Live fire drills were held by the U.S. and South Korea in combined joint exercises involving the Hyunmoo-2 SRBM, a South Korean Missile System and U.S. Army Tactical Missile System. Interceptors also participated, displaying an elephant walk formation in another military show of force.
