A train station in Ukraine that was crowded with thousands of people trying to escape eastern Ukraine was reportedly hit by a missile, killing 50 people on Friday according to Ukrainian authorities.

Photos at the Kramatorsk show bodies lying covered in tarp and also show what was left of the rocket with the words 'For the children" painted on it in Russian. The station had about 4,000 civilians in and around it at the time according to Ukraine's prosecutor-general, saying that most of them were women and children trying to leave before Russia carried out a full-scale invasion of eastern Ukraine.

The Russian Defense Ministry however has said that they did not attack the Kramatorsk station in Donbas, despite Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, along with other Ukrainian leaders claiming that Russia purposefully attacked a place where only civilians were present.

British Defense Minister Ben Wallace said that "the striking of civilians and critical infrastructure is a war crime. These were precision missiles aimed at people trying to seek humanitarian shelter".
