Man Killed In Crash At Luke Air Force Base After Automated Barriers Deployed

One man died after his vehicle crashed into automated barriers that had been deployed after he attempted to run the gates at the Luke Air Force Base in Arizona.
The crash happened at around 4 p.m. according to the Air Force, and the Glendale Police are heading an investigation into the incident.

A statement said that the man attempted to enter the base through the South Gate security checkpoint without following proper procedure.
"Members from the 56th Security Forces Squadron deployed an Automated Vehicle Barrier, which stopped the moving vehicle" it stated.

Although the Air Force did not identify the man involved in the crash, they said that he was not a member of the military and was pronounced dead by medical personnel who responded to the crash.
