Iran has carried out its second test of the Zuljanah solid-fueled satellite rocket, according to an Iranian state TV spokesperson.
"The third development phase of the Zuljanah satellite launcher will be based on a combination of information gained during today’s launch" the spokesperson stated.
It is not yet known whether the suborbital launch was successful or not, or where it was launched from. Iran carried out the first test of the Zuljanah launcher last year. Video footage posted by Iranian state media however indicates that the launch may have been successful.
The White House said that they are aware of Iran's claim and said that the actions are "unhelpful and destabilizing" and is committed to using sanctions and other measures in order to prevent further advances in Iran's ballistic missile system.
