Japan's Ministry of Defense reported that three Chinese PLAAF H-6 strategic bombers were spotted over international waters between the islands of Okinawa and Miyako-Jima on their way to the Pacific Ocean, then returned using the same route to the East China Sea. Japan scrambled its fighter jets in order to both identify and track the bombers.
