The Fate of the Ukrainian Fighters that were held up in the Azovstal Steel Plant is uncertain as they were transported by bus into Russian held territory by bus. Russian authorities have stated that 265 Ukrainians have surrendered. The Russian Defense Minister also stated that there were 51 seriously wounded who were taken to a hospital in Novoazovsk, which is located in the Donetsk region.
The Ukrainian Government is now working to return the fighters home in a prisoner exchange. Russian Parliament is stating it will consider not moving forward with the exchange as they were captured fighters of the Azov Regiment and considered nazi war criminals.
