Shipments of the HIMARS missile system, which is a very powerful & long range arsenal piece, has finally arrived in Ukraine. This is the missile system which the Russian Federation warned that it would retaliate if hit inside Russian borders with it.
The HIMARS weapons system was requested so that Ukrainian forces could go toe to toe with Russian missile systems and artillery as far as range. To date, Russian rockets have all but destroyed the entire Donbass region from a distance, while Ukrainian forces have been powerless against their trajectories.
Moscow's retaliatory threat include the following: If the long range missiles are used, then Russia will target other cities in Ukraine which have not been hit, meaning a quicker escalation.
