The Kremlin States, Russia Will Respond to NATO Buildup In Poland

Interfax news agency reported on a statement by Russia's foreign ministry on Saturday stating that a response to a build up of NATO forces in Poland will be appropriate and proportionate, says the Foreign Ministry of Russia.

"A response, as always, will be proportionate and appropriate, intended to neutralize potential threats to the security of the Russian Federation," - Oleg Tyapkin, Foreign Ministry Dept. Head in charge of Russian-European relations.

It has not been specified how the Russian Federation would react, only that their reaction would be proportionate and appropriate.

Following the invasion of Ukraine by Russia in February, NATO battle groups have been increased from 4 to 8. The original 4 battle groups are in Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania and Poland. They are lead by a cooperation between 4 major countries in NATO. The Estonia battle group is lead by the UK, the Latvia battle group is lead by Canada, the Lithuania battle group is lead by Germany, and the Poland battle group is lead by the United States.

The additional 4 battle groups were added in the following countries: Bulgaria, Hungary, Romania, and Slovakia. While Bulgaria and Hungary lead their own battle groups, Romania is lead by France and Slovakia is being lead by the Czech Republic. These new battle groups are still being setup and they will eventually be integrated into NATO's command structure.
