Former Taiwanese minister of former affairs John Deng said on Tuesday that a Chinese invasion of Taiwan would do more damage to the global economy than the Russian invasion of Ukraine has.
Deng said that the world relies on Taiwan for computer chips used in electric vehicles and smartphones. An invasion of Taiwan would have vast consequences on the technology industry.
"The disruption to international supply chains; disruption on the international economic order; and the chance to grow would be much, much (more) significant than this one" he stated, comparing the Russian invasion of Ukraine to a Chinese invasion of Taiwan.
