Syria Alleges More Israeli Airstrikes In Syria

Syrian news SANA has reported that Syria's air defenses have been activated in response to alleged Israeli airstrikes, saying "Our air defenses are confronting an Israeli aggression in the sky around Damascus".

SANA stated that a Syrian military source told them that Israeli aircraft had fired missiles from over northern Israel towards sites near Damascus, and claimed that Syrian air defenses intercepted most of the missiles.

The Jerusalem Post said that initial reports indicated that strikes had targeted Qudssaya, northwest of Damascus, and near the Damascus International Airport.

If confirmed, these strikes would be the third Israeli strike within Syrian territory in the last month. Two weeks ago Israeli airstrikes had targeted Rakhlah and Qatana which are located southwest of Damascus according to Lebanese Mayadeen TV.

The Scientific Studies and Research Center in Jamraya was also targeted according to the Step News Agency. Nearly a week before that an Israeli airstrike targeted near Masyaf in northwest Syria during the daytime according to The Step news agency, which reported that the sites targeted belonged to pro-Iranian militias and scientific research locations in Masyaf.
