Russia's 7th Consecutive Eastern Economic Forum To Be Held in Vladivostok Sept. 5-8

THE KREMLIN - Taking place in the Russian city of Vladivostok on September 5th through the 8th, The 7th Eastern Economic Forum will discuss the development of Russia's Far East, which is recovering from ongoing crisis' with a lack of international cooperation, and other topics of concern.

Sputnik Int'l has reported that Vladimir Putin, President of The Russian Federation, will be briefed on the final conclusions discussed at this year's Eastern Economic Forum (EEF), which will be opened on Monday, stating Yury Trutnev, Deputy Prime Minister.

The EEF was created by the Presidential Decree of Vladimir Putin in 2015 to create a foundational platform for the development of Russia's Far Eastern areas and expand cooperation with other nations in the Asia-Pacific.

The discussions at the EEF will be held regarding all areas and sectors of activity and awareness, and the format of meeting moderators at the EEF will be preserved, stated Trutnev, who serves as the presidential representative in Russia's Far Eastern Federal District.

He's also stated Russia's desire that all moderators report directly to the President of the Russian Federation, on all proposals presented that "will have been developed during the EEF sessions, which will be attended by the most expert specialists in Russia.

Unlike other forums of the same stature, around the world, The Eastern Economic Forum states its main theme, "On the Path to a Multipolar World." This is an idea that is no longer promoted at other global forums, stated Tretnev.

The uniqueness described in this year's forums highlights the shift in attendees as it relates to Russia's "special military operation" in Ukraine, and the ever-growing list which Russia has published of what it has termed as "unfriendly" countries, with its continued isolation from the west and its forced open arms to the east, due to international sanctions placed on Russia and Russian individuals.

"...And, of course, we would consider it very correct that the final results of all these discussions be reported to the Russian president, who earlier gave the green light to it. So we hope that EEF moderators will brief the president on the development of agriculture, logistics, industry, and high technologies in the Far East,... In line with the results of EEF discussions, Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin always gives us detailed instructions that help us take several steps forward in the development of the Far East..."

"We believe that the world has changed and those sanctions and the persistence, with which unfriendly countries are trying to hamper our development, have altered global developments. Actually, they've destroyed economic ties and led to the fact that the companies that clinched international contracts for the delivery of equipment made sure that all this is unreliable and that they may never see that implementation of the contracts..."

Trutnev also illustrated the changes are resulting in problems that can be transformed into opportunities for The Russian Federation, by possibly looking to new foreign partners to do the work that unfriendly nations previously held contracts.

He also pointed out that Russia itself could learn to do things through research and development of technology that it formerly didn't see as important. By doing this, Russia and specifically the Far Eastern District can become a stronger, more integral, and more efficient part of greater Russia, advancing in technological development.

There have been a total of 40 countries that have confirmed their attendance at this year's EEF 2022 forum, including bilateral business dialogue between Russia and a list of countries and organizations including India, Vietnam, the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN), Chinese Business Council, as well as Conference on Investment and Trade in the Arctic. Approximately 4,000 delegates and media representatives are expected to attend as well.
