MOSCOW - Alexei Zhuravlev, who is a lawmaker and a member of the Russian parliament has threatened the United States with Satan-2 nuclear missiles over U.S. support for Ukraine, saying that two Sarmat missiles would completely destroy the East Coast, and two more would completely destroy the West Coast.
Zhuravlev spoke on Russian state television Channel 1 and said, "I will tell you absolutely competently than to destroy the entire the East Coast of the United States, two Sarmat missiles are needed,” the pro-Kremlin pundit said, referring to Russia’s new intercontinental ballistic missiles, which are known as “Satan-2” in NATO countries".
"And the same goes for the West Coast,” he added. “Four missiles, and there will be nothing left".
Reporter Tony Dokoupil also spoke on Channel 1 and said that a nuclear strike like the one that was carried out on Hiroshima, Japan in 1945 would wipe out a large portion of Manhattan and create a mushroom cloud that would rise above the Empire State Building.
Zhuravlev however replied to Dokoupil, saying that the mushroom cloud would be 'visible from Mexico" and said that in case of nuclear war, no one should have a false sense of security.
