The Russian Ministry of Defense has put out a statement claiming that Russian male citizens are receiving fake phone calls which the 'answer-back unit informs them of a call to the military commissariat". After 12 hours of the statement, we have seen no rebuttal from Ukraine regarding the claim.
The Russian MOD statement says, "In recent days, many Russian male citizens have received fake phone calls in which an answer-back unit informs them of a call to the military commissariat".
"All such fake calls are made from the territory of Ukraine, are completely untrue, and are a provocation by the Ukrainian special services. We declare that the Russian Defence Ministry does not plan to call any citizens in reserve to military commissariats".
