A newly constructed nuclear facility in Russia, which opened on the 1st of June, 2022, has begun constant nuclear explosion detection, says The 12th Chief Directorate of the Russian Defense Ministry as of the 1st of July 2022. The 12th Chief Directorate of the Russian Ministry is the exclusive agency tasked with overseeing Russia's military nuclear-specific and nuclear support policy for the Russian Armed Forces. 12th Chief Directorate of the Russian Ministry's Statement: The newly constructed facility has been tasked to identify any sources of nuclear detonations as well as any man-made geophysical disturbances. Due to numerous economic sanctions being placed on Russia, for their war in Ukraine, and aggressive rhetoric made by NATO leaders, Russian President Vladimir Putin stated in February that he was putting Russia's nuclear forces on high alert, as Russia's military deployment tactics would allow the use of nuclear weapons in the light of a real threat by an outside force. This new development is one such nuclear aspect of those forces, specializing in the nuclear field. The facility will use modern sophisticated algorithms for data analysis and disseminating information, which will allow the process of data to occur in a short amount of time with large volumes of data. This news comes as tensions between the east and the west continue to mount up as Russia takes several key locations in eastern Ukraine. As the world continues to condemn the actions of Russia in Ukraine, Russian state-run media is continually flashing warnings of nuclear strikes in the west against cities such as New York City and London. A specific example of this is the sharing of coordinates on RT recently, which shows satellite images of global decision-making centers around the world, in response to the NATO meeting in Madrid Spain, recently. It is thought that if Russia was to utilize the force of nuclear weapons, it would only attack Ukraine, as attacking a NATO-allied country would trigger Article 5 of the Washington Treaty and would result in a full-scale nuclear response. This type of attack would be short-range with a lower tactical yield, of which it is thought Russia has 1,000+ in its reserve arsenal.
