Russia carried out drills with fighter jets repelling a mock airstrike against Kaliningrad, Russia which sits between Poland and Lithuania along the Baltic Coast after Finland announced plans to join NATO, with Sweden likely to follow suit.

The drills, which included Su-27 fighter jets took place just two days after Finland announced its plans to join the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO).
The jets simulated destroying mock enemy aircraft during the drills according to Interfax, which said that over 10 crews of the Baltic Sea fleet's Su-27 were included in the exercises.
