The Pentagon says that they have seen no information to corroborate the reports that the Russian ship Admiral Makarov was in fact hit in the Black Sea.
Pentagon Spokesman John Kirby stated, "We’ve seen the reports [about the Admiral Makarov]…we’ve been looking at this all day and we have no information to corroborate on these reports".
There have been many reports and claims that have stated that the Russian Frigate Admiral Makarov had been hit by a Ukrainian anti-ship missile and was sinking near Odessa.
