Opposition to Finland & Sweden joining Nato

President of Turkey, Tayyip Erdogan has expressed his official opposition to countries Finland & Sweden joining Nato. There are current sanctions imposed in 2019 on Turkey by Sweden for its operations in neighboring Syria.

Turkey is also accusing Finland & Sweden for aiding and abetting terrorist groups that have been blackballed by the EU, USA, and Ankara. One such known group is the Kurdistan Workers' Party.

Turkey has also made 33 extradition requests over the past few years, which the justice ministry sources have told the state news Anadolu that the 2 countries have failed to respond in a positive manner.
