Reported by the Associated Press on Thursday, North Korea fired three short range ballistic missiles into the sea, off the countries eastern coast. The launch is perceived to be in response to the inauguration of South Korea's new conservative president Yoon Suk Yeol which occurred on Tuesday May 10th.
At 9 AM CDT, a special EAM was received over HF on 15016 USB with 120 special characters, which was then followed by 3 different standard EAMs. The 3 different standard EAMs were then repeated every 30 minutes for 2.5 hours, ending with the last transmission at 11:30 AM CDT.
On May 12th, after the launches, there were a plethora of U.S. Reconnaissance aircraft in the air. Several RC-135 Rivet Joints, an RC-135 Cobra Ball, and an E-4B also flew from OFFUTT in Nebraska to MacDill Air Force Base in Florida.
