Natural Gas Supplies Cut to EU Once Again By Russia

Russian company Gazprom has cut gas flows to Italy and Slovakia today by 50% as well as completely shutting off gas flows to France as the EU continues to rid itself of dependence on Russian resources. This is the 3rd day in a row that supplies have been cut causing reductions to fuel sources for industry and electricity generation in the EU. This continues to drive a spike in already growing energy prices, marked by significant inflation in the EU.

Here is a list of countries that have already had gas cut off by Gazprom in the EU:

  • Denmark
  • The Netherlands
  • Finland
  • Poland
  • Bulgaria
Volodymyr Zelenskyy is stating that these shutoffs is a form of resource blackmail against the EU to either prevent the accession of Ukraine into the EU and to keep the EU dependent on Russian resources.
