In Kabul, Afghanistan, a bomb exploded inside the Kazrat Zakaria Mosque. There were at least 5 dead in the bombing stated by a hospital who received 5 bodies and 15+ wounded patients. From the authorities, A Taliban official, who would not speak unless he could remain anonymous, stated that 11 individuals were now dead from an explosive device that had been placed in the pulpit of the mosque, and the explosion took place while worshipers were inside for their evening prayers.
There has not been any claim to the attack as of yet, though it appears that the targets were Shi'ia Muslims who are in the religious minority there in Afghanistan.
There were also 3 bombings in northern Afghanistan utilizing minivans as the delivery system. 9 passengers have been declared dead and 15 wounded in the attack. The attacks took place in Mazar-e-Sharif
There have been quite a few attacks on Shi'ia minority groups within Afghanistan in the recent months which the Islamic State has claimed responsibility for.
