Man Shot And Killed Outside New Boston Space Force Station

A man was shot and killed in what officials have called a "homicide" outside of a Space Force station on Friday in New Hampshire. The shooting involved a police officer and a "contracted security officer".

The shooting happened at about 11:30 p.m when Michael Foley from Massachusetts was shot and killed on a road called Galaxy Way that leads to the Space Force Station according to a press release given by the office of the New Hampshire Attorney General.

A spokesperson for the Attorney General's office said that a police officer and a "contracted security officer" were involved in the man's death.

The man was shot once, with a "single gunshot wound" and the "manner of death is by homicide," according to a release by the New Hampshire Deputy Chief Medical Examiner Dr. Mitchell Weinberg, although it's unclear who fired the lethal round. '

Stephen Brady, who is a spokesperson for Peterson-Schriever Garrison oversees the New Boston Space Force Station spoke to Military.com and said the shooting "involved a civilian not affiliated with the installation".

Brady had stated in an email that "Base security was never compromised, the vital Space Force satellite command and control mission continued without interruption, and there is no known threat to the community".

The police officer and security contractor involved in the incident were not injured, according to a press release by the New Hampshire Attorney General's Office on Monday.
