Crisis Brewing on Poland-Belarus Border

There is a humanitarian crisis brewing on the border of Belarus and Poland. Reported by The Geo Post, there are migrants waiting at the border waiting to enter the European Union, which the UN Security Council has condemned the country of Belarus for allowing the migrants at the Poland border to remain stranded and in freezing conditions.

The BBC has previously stated: Thousands of human lives, many of which are Kurdish from the Middle East, are camping at the Poland border in hopes of crossing into the EU. There are some women and children; however, the majority are men. Crowds of migrants have tried to cut through a barbed wire fence to enter Poland previously this week. Though some migrants have slipped through, Polish border guards and the Polish Army have managed to push them back.

While Estonia and Britain have already sent troops to the Poland-Belarus border, the Czech government on Wednesday approved a deployment of up to 150 soldiers to assist the Polish army and Polish border guards to slow the migrant flow into the EU, of migrants who are seeking asylum from Belarus. It is not official yet as it still needs approval from the Czech Parliament.

Reported on Defence-blog.com, there are videos of large ground convoys of the Belarusian military moving to the border which has hit social media. The video files show various armored military equipment riding near Grodno in Belarus. All reports are unconfirmed, but additional reports coming out of Minsk, which are also unconfirmed, show that Belarus is deploying additional troops to areas near the border with Poland.

The UN Security Council has accused Belarus of using the migrants at the Polish border to destabilize the EU's eastern border.
