The "Anonymous" hacker group has claimed that they hacked and leaked 700 Gigabytes of Russian data, including data from the private Russian state backed oil and gas company Aerogas. Anonymous claimed that they breached Aerogas data and emails.

The Anonymous Twitter account tweeted, "BREAKING: Over 700GB of Russian government data leaked. This data includes more than 200,000 emails from the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation".

In February, Anonymous tweeted that they were official in a cyberwar against the Russian government, then added later that they are at war with Putin, not the Russian people, saying "No. Anonymous is not at war with Russia. We are at war with Putin. The Russian people do not support Putin's war of aggression against the Ukrainian people. Be wary of accounts posting false statements who are not even involved in actions against Putin".
