At least 47 migrants have been found dead inside a trailer in San Antonio, Texas with 18 others transported to hospitals in the area, in what appears to be a human smuggling accident.
Officials say they found a tractor-trailer in southwest San Antonio near Interstate 35, on a back road. In total, the trailer had around 60 migrants inside.
ICE Homeland Security Investigations were called to the scene and have taken charge of the investigation, as well as border patrol agents.
The weather in San Antonio on Monday was in the high 90s up to 103 degrees Fahrenheit which can cause heat exhaustion or heat stroke to occur.
